The subtitle of this book is to show what winding path the idea has gone from its creation to its final publication. The thoughtful idea and ambition to gather and present in one place the basic determinants of genetic counselling for patients and their families.
Medical genetics is characterized by dynamic exchange of information and constant complications of problems thanks to the great scientific and technological advances of medicine. That is way the recognition and diagnosis of diseases caused by chromosome / gene disorders is much more extensive today than in previous decades, thus becoming part of the everyday thinking of professionals of different profiles who come into contact with patients and their families. Our intention was to show the diversity of medical/clinical genetics within the prominent specialties most closely associated with the genetic counselling process.

Since it will be a long time before the first specialists of the independent specialization of clinical/medical genetics are educated in the Republic of Croatia, we thought that a book would be "welcome"for students and doctors, specialists in various field of medicine, in that different ways of genetics are discussed informing patients and their families.This book is designed that way.
