A Clinico-Genetic Study of Soviet North Peoples (A North Khanty Population Model)

The article discusses the main results of a comprehensive medicogenetic study of the North Kanty population. It gives a brief description of their genetico-demographic structure. A number of statistical methods were used, including multidimensional analysis, to study the structure of interconnected polygenic (genetic markers) features with a set of quantitative characteristics, part of them being the risk factors of human chronic pathology. A genetic analysis of the risk factors was made. The article also discusses various aspects of the state of health of human populations in polar regions in connection with the genetico-demographic processes occurring within these populations.
